Spring has once again brought some new beauty trends straight from the runways! Don’t worry, the traditional makeup trends are still around, so will be wearing red lipstick, smokey eyes or natural, no makeup looks in the coming months.
As we expected, makeup artists embraced bright colours, but also the impressive makeup techniques so model’s faces have almost become a real artist canvas during the fashion weeks.
“There is one beauty rule here: go bold or go home.”
There’s not a single statement shade in a colour palette that makeup artists didn’t try out, some fashion brands like Manish Arora, Max Mara and Giambattista Valli even had several different makeup looks on a catwalk. The majority of the beauty looks share one common idea – fierce eye makeup and bare face.

Blue

The rule of ‘all shades applies to blue too because it was a frequent choice of many designers we saw backstage. During the fashion week, makeup artists played around with electric-blue liner at Boss Woman and not so traditional ocean blue smokey eyes with glitters at Manish Arora.
Yellow

I’M Isola Marras makeup experts precisely created a yellow arc combined with another, more subtle colour. They also did the two-toned mix with blue and orange. In Milan, Missoni’s team went bold all the way to the eyebrows. This yellow beauty look has a cool effect!
Green

Just like pink, spring version of green comes in many shades and forms. At DVF’s backstage, it was beautifully combined into a smokey eye with light blue, Max Mara went with statement enhanced brow option while at Giambattista Valli it was mixed with glitter.
Orange

Graphic, almost futuristic eye makeup was another challenge for backstage beauty teams, meaning colours became a new mean of expression. Orange has perfectly served as an ideal spring eyeshadow too.
Multi-coloured

Multi-colour eye makeup gives you a real drama, right? Well, similar thoughts were on the mind of Betsey Johnson’s and Manish Arora’s beauty experts cause these looks are anything but boring.
